Beader's Paradise Electric Fringe Necklace
The colors of this necklace are amazing!
- Time:1-1/2 hours
1Cut 6 inch lengths of wire. (Tip: have a long piece of wire in your hand to work with.) Straighten wire as needed with nylon jaw pliers. Using round nose pliers, make a wrapped wire loop by bending the wire along the middle part of the pliers, creating a small to medium sized round loop. Hold the wires where they intersect with chain nose pliers and wrap the smaller wire tail around the longer wire tail close to where the wires cross, making sure the wraps are close together. Wrap 3 times and trim; use chain nose pliers to make sure that the cut end is pushed flush against the wrap.
2String on beads (note that the wire wrap is considered the "top" of the fringe element). For the necklace shown, 13 beads were strung on, alternating the placement of the Pink and Purple beads with each fringe.
3To create a wire loop to close the wire, make sure the loop is butted as close to the bottom of the beads as possible so there is no large wire spacing showing. Follow the instructions contained within the 1-Step Looper to create wire loops to close the wire.
4Once all fringe has been created, string onto leather cording that has been cut to desired length. (Tip: string on fringe as you go along to make sure to keep pattern consistent.)
5Use chain nose pliers to attach cord ends to each end of the leather cord. Make sure they are snug and attached well. Add a jump ring to one cord end and a jump ring and lobster clasp to the other.
