Project Instructions

  • 1
Download project template for the project pattern.
  • 2
The bracelet shown measures 7-1/2 inch with the clasp. When measuring for the wrist size, you may need to add or delete rows. Note that with the size 10/0 beads 10 rows equal 1 inch. If the bracelet is being made for a smaller child, one of the snowflakes can be taken out of the pattern if needed.
  • 3
Follow the written instructions provided on setting up the Jewel Loom. You can also get some tips on the set up of thread and ribbon clamps by viewing some of the videos provided on A.C. Moore's YouTube channel. Since this bracelet is 11 beads per row, 12 loom warps will need to be set up on the loom.
  • 4
Since ribbon clamps will be used, you will need to set up an area for the clamp to hold onto. Weave the thread back and forth in the beginning, approximately 8 times to create a foundation for the clamp.
  • 5
When following the pattern for adding the beads, remember to load the beads in the correct order so the letters show up going in the proper direction!
  • 6
If you need to add additional thread, make sure to weave the old thread back through the previous rows. Since 10/0 beads are smaller in size, be careful not to force the needle and thread through the bead if it is tight, as you may break a bead. Tip: use a thinner/finer needle if needed! When adding in another thread, weave through some previous rows; run the needle and thread through the thread at the ends of the row to anchor the beads.
  • 7
Once the pattern is completed, repeat Step 4 by weaving thread through the warps 8 times.
  • 8
Now it is time to start the fringe. Tip: keep the bracelet on the loom as it will keep it taut and easier to bead on the fringe edging.
  • 9
To add the beaded fringe on the sides of the bracelet, make sure the needle is coming out of the last row of beads. String on 3 Light Sea Foam Green Beads and 4 Dark Sea Foam Green Beads. Skip the last three Dark Sea Foam Green beads closest to the needle and run needle through the 4th bead; add 3 Light Sea Foam Green beads and place needle through the end bead on the adjacent row.
  • 10
To get the needle back to the outside edge of the bracelet, run the needle through the next row's edge bead and repeat Step 9. Continue to the end of the bracelet.
  • 11
Repeat beaded fringe on the other side of the bracelet.
  • 12
To prepare the woven thread ends for the ribbon clamp, add the strong jewelry glue to the top and bottom of the thread. It's easy to do this and it will dry more easily and quickly with the bracelet still on the loom! For the sample created 2 coats of glue were added, making sure the first coat was dry before adding the second coat. When glue is completely dry, cut the bracelet off of the loom and trim the thread close to the woven and glued ends of the bracelet.
  • 13
Use the pliers to clamp down the ribbon clamps to each end of the bracelet. Lightly tug on the ends to make sure that they are locked in.
  • 14
Add on lobster clasp to one end of ribbon clamp with a jump ring and add a jump ring to the other side.
