Remove the Kumihimo Braiding Disk from the package and review the Instructions for a Simple 8-Warp Braid and Whipping & Finishing Braid Ends in the printed insert. You may also want to download the project template for a guide to the colors used in this project.
Lay the four cords side by side then fold in half and use a twist tie or cord to tie them together at the center. Place the tied center into the center hole of the disk; set your warp as shown in the Warp Set and create the braid following Instructions for a Simple 8-Warp Braid. You are going to need at least 12 to 16 inch of braid.
Once youve finished the braid, remove it from the board and relax the tension by stretching it and running your hand from bottom to top. Youll notice the braid gets a little thinner and longer once its relaxed.
Tie a knot in the loose end of the braid. Decide on the length of your braid. (Tip: end caps and clasp will add about 1 inch to overall length.) For this design you need 3 equal pieces of braid approximately 4 inch long each. Next whip and cut the braid (Whipping & Finishing Braid Ends instructions on Disk insert), then glue on the end caps. (Tip: if you set the end cap open side up into the hole in a spool of thread it will free up both hands for adding the glue to the cap.) Wait about 15 minutes for the glue to dry/set up.
Connect your braided pieces with chain to end caps using jump rings, and add chain to the ends of the other sides of the braided pieces. To finish add a toggle clasp.
