The Beadsmith Pebblestone Bracelet
Create a gorgeous pebblestone necklace!
- Time:1 hour
1Remove the Kumihimo Braiding Disk from the package and review the Instructions for a Simple 8-Warp Braid and Whipping & Finishing Braid Ends in the printed insert. You may also want to download the project template for a guide to the colors used in this project.
2Lay the four rattail cords side by side. Cut S-Lon into four 3 yard pieces. Tie all 8 strands together with a knot at the end.
3Place the knotted end into the center hole of the Braiding Disk; set your warp as shown in the Warp Set. Place 145 beads onto each of the 2 left strands of S-Lon (290 beads in total).
4Create the braid following the 8-Warp Braid instructions except youll have two S-Lon warps with beads and two without beads. Create approximately 1/4 inch of braid without beads, then start adding beads. Each time you come to a warp with beads on it, slide a bead into the center hole and tuck it under the first warp it crosses. Continue making the braid with beads to desired length then stop adding beads and continue braiding 1/2 inch of braid without beads (to attach end caps to).
5After youve finished the braid, remove it from the board and tie a knot in the open end. Next, whip and cut the braid (see Braiding Disk package insert) and glue on the end caps. (Tip: if you set the end cap open side up into the hole in a spool of thread it will free up both hands for adding the glue to the cap.) Wait approximately 15 minutes for glue to dry/set up.
6Attach clasp to end caps with jump rings.
