Bernat Baby from the Middle Blanket

There'’s something special about a baby'’s first crochet blanket. Perhaps it'’s the soft, comfortable, reassuring feel of a high quality yarn? Perhaps it’'s the fun, textured feel of the pattern? Either way, if there'’s a new bundle of joy in your life, then the Bernat Baby from the Middle Blanket is what that baby needs. And it needs cleaned, toss it in washing machine.

Tip: Before starting project, pick three solid colors of Bernat Baby Blanket and/or other 100 g/3.5 oz. baby yarn. Assign each color a letter from A to C. Use these letters to correspond with the A, B and C in this project.
Use a gauge of 6 dc and 4 rows (4") (ch 3 count as dc) to crochet a blanket that measures approximately 36" square. Be sure to check your gauge. If it takes you fewer stitches to match the gauge, try using a smaller size hook; if it takes you more stitches, try a larger size hook.
