Project Instructions

  • 1
Paint both sides and edges of tree Classic Green. Add an additional coat of paint if necessary. Note that the front of the tree is the side with the smaller holes.
  • 2
Using a dry brush technique, add brush strokes of Thicket to mimic the look of evergreen. Let dry.
  • 3
Paint base of tree Night Sky; let dry. Paint a second coat if necessary.
  • 4
Measure out an approximate length for Glitter Tape crossing over the tree to look like garland. It is okay if the tape goes over a hole as you will cut an opening for it.
  • 5
Remove plastic protective backing from tape and place onto tree. Use Exacto knife to carefully trim excess tape from the edges of the tree. Use knife to create any of the openings covered by the tape. Repeat until desired garland trim is added to tree.
  • 6
Follow the directions for creating the Mod Melt frames; create as many frames as you need for photos. Try to make the backs of the frames flush with the mold.
  • 7
Use adhesive pen to add glue to the high points of the frames. Let dry to tacky and place leafing on frames. Use towel or stiff brush to remove excess leaf.
  • 8
Print out photos to the size of the frames (approximately 1-1/2 inch x 1 inch, depending on the frame). Brush both sides of photos with a light coating of matte Mod Podge. This will protect the ink in the photos from blurring.
  • 9
Use a small amount of Glossy Accents to adhere photo to the back of the frame. When dry, place frames on Non-Stick Craft Sheet. Fill frame with Glossy Accents. It will at first be cloudy in color and will dry to clear. If Glossy Accents leaks from beneath the frame, that is okay. When dry, just peel from Non-Stick Craft Sheet and cut away.
  • 10
Use glue gun with sticks to adhere frames to tree.
  • 11
Remove coil from star and use glue gun and glue sticks to top of star.
  • 12
Add lights to the back of the tree, plug in and enjoy!!!
