Countdown to School

The summer was a wild ride, but now it'’s time to get the wheels on the bus going round and round. This countdown-to-school kids' project is a fun way to build anticipation and get them focused before it's time for back to school once more.

Project Instructions

  • 1
Download and print the project template before starting. Cut out the shapes.

Bus: Color the centers of the wheels with the Silver marker. Glue the wheels to the bus. Cut photos to fit behind the windows of the bus and tape in place. Print SCHOOL STARTS! on the bus with the Black marker.
  • 3
To Do's: Cut 1-1/2" x 11" pieces of construction paper. Glue the end of one piece to the back of the bus, then glue the other end to the strip to make a ring. Continue making rings and connecting them to each other. You can make as many rings as you want. Write what you will do on each ring with the marker. When you pull that ring off you do that thing. Hang your school bus up and tear off a ring for each day until school starts.
