Project Instructions

  • 1
Project time does not include drying time for neither the glue nor the dye.
Download and print project template before starting.
  • 2
Cut a 20 inch length of rope.
  • 3
Following the template, form the rope into a coin knot.
  • 4
Bring the cord ends together and apply tape to the two cords, keeping them snug to each other. Trim the cord for the desired length of earring.
  • 5
Using needle nose pliers, remove the clasp portion of the cord end. Apply glue to the inside of the cord end and push the rope into the cord end.
  • 6
Attach an ear wire to the loop of the cord end once the glue has dried completely.
  • 7
Repeat steps 2-6 for the matching earring.
  • 8
Allow the glue to dry completely before attempting to dye the rope earrings. Dunk the rope earrings into water with food coloring or follow fabric dye manufacturers’ instructions. Let the cords dry completely before wearing. ***Colorfastness not guaranteed.***
