Project Instructions

  • 1
Project time does not include the drying time for the clay.
  • 2
Flatten clay with your hands or roll it with a capped marker or rolling pin. Cut out skulls, black cats, and other holiday symbols with scissors.
  • 3
Embellish your cutouts. Use thin snakes of modeling material for hair, scars, and outlines. Cut ruffled or ragged edges. Knead two or more colors together just a little for marbleized shades for slime, bloodshot eyes, gruesome teeth, and oozing sores.
  • 4
Immediately after you have finished creating your shapes, press a hole near the top of each piece with a straw. Air dry the pieces overnight.
  • 5
String raffia through the holes. Tie knots on both sides of each piece to keep them evenly spaced. Hang your garland and turn on the black light for some ghoulish fun!
