Dress It Up Cars Initial
A fun craft for kids!
- Time:1 hour
1Let paint dry between applications. Project time does not include this drying time.
2Using photo as a guide, use a pencil to lightly draw the shapes of the roads, hills and cactuses.
3Using the flat shader brush and the project photo as a guide:
Paint the sky Baby Blue.
Paint the sand Yellow Ochre.
Paint the road Zinc.
Paint the hills Cadmium Orange.
4Glue two match sticks to one side of the wood rectangle ("billboard") for posts. Find clip art on either the internet or a magazine that could serve as an advertisement for the billboard.
5Paint wood rectangle ("billboard") Milk Chocolate. Rub off some of the paint off with sandpaper for a distressed look. When paint has dried, glue the clip art or magazine to the wood rectangle ("billboard").
6Paint two more match sticks. Stick one end through the shank on the back of each Route 66 sign. Glue into place on the letter.
7Use liner brush to paint cactuses Foliage Green. Use this same brush to paint the stripes of the road Snow (Titanium) White.
8Glue Route 66 signs and billboard to the letter.
9Use wire cutters to remove shanks from remaining Cars buttons. Glue these buttons to the letter as desired.
