Dress It Up Felt Christmas Ornaments
Looks beautiful hanging from your tree!
- Time:1/2 hour
1Take your Red and White felt and make a 2-1/2 inch fold. Fold it over two more times. Now, cut as many circles, 2 inch in diameter, as your folded piece of felt will allow. You will need between 75 and 90 such circles for a 3 inch Styrofoam ball.
2Follow the instructions in step 1, but make your circles 1 inch in diameter. Cut between 25 and 30 circles that are 1 inch each.
3Take a 2 inch felt circle and fold it in half, then fold it in half again, giving you a felt triangle with a 90 degree angle. Put some hot glue in the fold and near the corner at the bottom of the triangle.
4Place folded 2 inch felt circle on 1 inch felt circle, standing up with the fold facing the center of the 1 inch circle and pinch the center at the bottom to give it shape.
5Follow steps 3 and 4 two more times to finish each 1 inch circle.
6Make as many felt pieces as you have 1 inch circles, with three 2 inch circles on each.7Hot glue the finished felt pieces onto the Styrofoam ball, placing them close enough to cover all of the foam underneath. (Optional - paint the Styrofoam ball Strawberry to ensure you won't see the White under the felt.)8Once your Styrofoam ball is covered with finished felt pieces, cut a 9 inch piece of ribbon. Thread both ends of the ribbon through the bead and tie a knot at the bottom large enough to stop the ribbon from sliding through.9At the top of your ornament, put a button of hot glue ini the center of the finished felt piece (twhere the three folded 2 inch circles coverge) and place your bead in the center, knot end first.10Hot glue buttons such as Mini Cookie Cutters, Glitter Holly, Pearl Snowflakes, Red Poinsettias and A Keepsake Christmas as embellishments.
