Project Instructions

  • 1
Project time does not include drying time for the paint.
  • 2
Paint the flower pots Sky Blue. Let dry. Add Kelly Green to the bottom of each flower pot to look like grass. Paint Hauser Light Green stems every so often so you can add flower buttons to them later.
  • 3
Painted the base Violet Pansy (or any color, just remember to coordinate with your fabric). Let dry.
  • 4
Remove shanks from buttons you are using with wire cutters. Hot glue all buttons but the Glitter Daisy ones to the flower pots.
  • 5
Trace the top of the flowerpot onto your Cocoa felt and cut out three of these squares.
  • 6
Cut about 12 inch of aluminum wire and begin twisting your Emerald and Light Green chenille stems around the wire to make the stems for your flowers.
  • 7
Wrap the bottom of the chenille stem once around your paintbrush, then bend the rest of it up to create a round base. Hot glue the rounded bottom of the chenille stem to the bottom of the inside of your flower pot.
  • 8
Fill flowerpots with pom poms up to 1/2 inch from the top.
  • 9
Cut a hole in the center of the Cocoa felt and feed the chenille stem through the hole, allowing the Cocoa felt to sit on top of the pom poms.
  • 10
Cut leaves out of Kelly Green felt and hot glue them to the chenille stems.
  • 11
To make the flowers, take your fabric and cut out 5 circles about 2 inch in diameter. Take each individual circle and bend in half. Using your needle and thread, start at the edge and sew back and forth along the opening edge. When you are through the whole circle gather all material, the circle should now look like one petal. Continue threading other circles on. Pull tight at the end so you have a circle of petals. Sew through the back a couple of times to make sure it stays together. Knot and cut the extra thread.
  • 12
Hot glue your flowers to the chenille stems and glue a Glitter Daisy button to the center of each flower.
