- Time:2 hours
1Download and print project template.
2Cut from fabric:
2 Apron body pieces
2 pocket pieces (5-1/2 inch x 12 inch)
1 ruffle piece (4 inch x width of fabric)
2 waist tie pieces (4 inch x width of fabric)
1 neck tie (3 inch x width of fabric)
Sew with right sides together leaving an opening for turning. Trim corners, turn and press. Sew to apron body front. (Optional: If you want the apron to be reversible, make a second pocket and sew it to the other body piece.)
Take fabric and fold longwise with wrong sides together. Make the biggest stitch on your sewing machine. Sew together leaving ends without using the back stitch. Keep ends long and pull to gather material to look ruffled. Place on right side spreading out ruffle and pinning to body front.
5Neck Tie & Waist Ties:
Fold fabric long ways and press. When you open fabric you should now have a press line fold in the center. Press bottom and top of material to press line. Once bottom and top are folding in, fold entire material in half and sew together. Knot ends to finish.
6Pin right sides of apron bodies together. Make sure the ruffle is in between both bodies and Neck Tie and Waist Ties are pinned and in the middle as well.
7Pin together, sew around the apron leaving an opening for turning.
8Trim corners, curve, and turn right side out and press. You can add one or two rows of topstitching if you desire.
9Apply buttons as desired. Use felt, if desired, to cut out letter of your name and stick on apron.
