Elmer's Superstar Frame
Every kid is a superstar at something --
whether it be sports, musical instruments or even crafting. Show how proud you are of your child with a homemade frame. We did ours with Black and Silver craft supplies, but with all the paints, ribbons, Sharpie markers and foam board available at A.C. Moore it's easy to tweak to this project to your child's favorite colors (or perhaps even their school's colors)!
Create your own, snap a few pictures, and share using #ACMooreInspired.
- Time:about an hour + dry time
1Lightly trace and cut star pattern onto the foam board. (Tip: Score lightly first and then press more firmly to cut deeper, with several passes of the knife. Replace blades often.) Trace and cut a second identical star. Glue back of front star to the back star so they are lined up equally. Add glue to the foam board's edges all around star and adhere trim.
2Measure, draw and cut a 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" vertical rectangle for photo in center of only one star. Trim photo as needed and attach to back of opening using tape.
3Spray wooden stars with Silver paint. Let dry. Apply a coat of Glitter Silver spray to the project and let dry. Glue stars to front of frame. Add name and year with Silver marker. Overlap ends of a 6" length of trim and glue to top back of star for a hanger.
