Fiskars Baby's First Year Tag Book
Cardstock plus paper punches plus photos equals family keepsake!
- Time:2 hours
1Cut pieces of chipboard to the size of tag book that you'd like (for best results, make the chipboard pieces at least 3-1/4 inch 6-1/2 inch). Then print a photo from each month of baby's first year and/or other desired photos. (Tip: black and white photos, though not required, will provide a cohesive look to the finished project and also give you the flexibility to select any color scheme for your tag book.)
2Trim a piece of Light Kraft cardstock to 2-3/4 inch x 6 inch. Use the 2 in 1 corner rounder punch on the top two corners. Trim can be added now or later by machine stitching a loop of ribbon to the top of your tag.
3Next, trim a piece of patterned cardstock to fit your page base (several suggestions for cardstock are listed under supplies). Place your photo where you'd like it on the page, and tuck a journaling tag underneath so that it sticks out slightly (this will be a good reminder of where not to stitch in the next step).
4Use a sewing machine to stitch around three sides of the photo (not the side with the tag sticking out). This creates the "pocket" for your journaling tag to live in, inside your tag book. Adhere the page to your chipboard base page. If needed, use the craft knife to trim around the corners of the page.
5Use hexagons, circles, scallop circles, stars, and heart punches (or other desired punches) on left over scraps of cardstock to embellish pages.
6Add the month (of your baby's age) to the photo with the foam stickers.
7Use marker to add journaling about such things as weight and height to what the baby loves and hates that month to milestones, etc.
