Fiskars Easter Finger Puppets
Finger puppets are easy to make and so adorable!
- Time:1 hour
1Use the oval template and marker to trace two 2" x 2-1/2" ovals onto felt (Ivory felt for the bunny, Yellow for the chick and White for the lamb). This will be the body of the puppet. Cut some of the ovals with straight-edge scissors and others with scallop-edged fabric shears. For each animal's body, take one oval and trim a small curved section from the bottom. (Tip: use the template to trace the curve.) This will make it easier for little fingers to slip the puppet into place.
2Use the Fiskars template and scissors to create the following:
Lamb's Face: one 1-1/4" x 1-1/2" piece in Brown
Lamb's Ears: four 3/4" x 1" pieces (two Pink & two Brown)
Lamb's Legs: two 2" strips of White felt & two tiny pieces of Brown felt to cover their tips
Chick's Wings: two 1-1/4" x 1-1/2" pieces in Yellow
Chick's Tuft: one 1" x 1-1/2" piece in Yellow, fold in half, trim & cut sections to fringe
Chick's Beak: one small diamond shape in Tangerine.
Bunny's Ears: two pieces 1-1/2" x 2" each in Ivory & two 1-1/4" x 1-1/2" pieces in Pink
3With embroidery thread, stitch the eyes (French knots) and noses for each animal's face. Glue and/or stitch other pieces from steps 1 & 2 in appropriate places. Machine stitch around the body of the puppet, leaving open the area at the bottom for your finger.
