Cut the 36" foam sheet into three 12" squares. Print bird template onto scrap piece of cardstock and cut out. Following the StyroCutter Plus package instructions, carefully cut out an N, E and L from the foam squares using the StyroCutter Plus. (Tip: Draw the letters on the squares first with the marker and cut along those lines.) Do not force the blade through the foam and be sure to keep the blade at a 90 degree angle to the foam square to create straight edges on the letters. (The O is the wreath.)
Pin the bird template on a scrap piece of foam and trace with the marker. Cut out the bird shape with the serrated knife. Use sandpaper to round the edges of the bird shape.
Paint the bird Engine Red and the beak Jack-o-Lantern and let dry. Glue a Black bead in place for the eye.
Paint the inside edge of the wreath (the letter O) Engine Red and let dry. Paint the inside edges of all the letters Engine Red and let dry. Paint the front and outside edges of the wreath and all the letter squares Wicker White and let dry.
Glue cardstock (or sheet music) to the back of the letter squares. Cut another piece of cardstock (or sheet music) to fit the back of the foam wreath and glue in place. Cut about a yard of ribbon, then glue it to the outside edge of all four letters. Trim any excesss. Remove needles and pine cones from the picks with the wire cutters. Add these to the letters with glue. Glue the bird inside the foam wreath as shown.
