There are several ways to post pictures. So far the most bug proof way is to use a FREE Photobucket account. We are not affiliated with Photobucket but we have found that pictures posted using this service have not been "lost" during forum upgrades.
If you don't know about or do not have a Photobucket account you can go to
http://photobucket.com/ to check it out. AS I said it is free, and if you et up an account you can keep private albums. You can also give out passwords for those private albums. Before you start adding pictures though I say ORGANIZE them, moving hundreds of pictures takes a while. When you are ready upload your pictures and go from there.
Now borrowing from Joanne (because I hate duplicating work):
1. Get your thread/post ready for your pictures
2. Go to your photobucket account (when doing this I have two internet sessions open so I can toggle back and forth)
3. Click on the picture(s) you want post
4. Click on edit (this is only if you need to resize them. I use the medium setting when I resize)
5. Save your picture and go back to your album (if you resized).
6. Click on the picture again (to make sure that it's outlined in red)
7. Click on the "Generate HTML and IMG code" button
8. Copy the link in the "IMG images for message boards"
9. Go back to your thread/post that you started and paste the link
10. Preview the post to make sure it looks they way you want it, then click Post.
It seems like a lot of steps, but once you do it it's really simple (I've just never been good a summarizing LOL!!!!)angel
If anyone has any questions, let me know.
I've also been chatting with Admin and there's another way you can do it if you don't have an account with Photobucket. You have to post your thread/post then in the upper right hand corner there's an "attach" button. Click on that and it brings you to another screen where you can browse your files for the image you want to post.
Hope this helps everyone!!!angel
Thanks Joanne, you made typing this tutorial easier!
