My son had to do a project on California so of course I fired up the ol' cricut. My son loves playing with my machine. The letters were cut from the Mickey Font cart. I love the big, chunky letters on that cart.

Domestic Diva, I was thinking the same thing. All I had when I was a kid was a stencil and pictures from the travel agency. I made sure my son's teacher knew that my son did all the work and not me. I think my son inherited my crafty gene, yay! My husband works with his hands too so our kids get it from the both of us. It's funny because I get my "craftiness" from my father.

My son has his first non-computer project due tomorrow. I am actually excited about helping him tonight do the letters with my Cricut!

Without getting into what the whole project was about, my son had definite ideas of how he wanted to present it. He actually went and looked through my carts and found the items he wanted to put on the board beyond the letters. From a 15 year old boy, I was impressed. Yet again, anything involving an electronic or tool item gets a good response from that group!

I know what you mean Karen. Right after I bought Paper Doll Dress Up, my son came home from school having to do a project on dinosaurs. He picked out everything for his project and cut it out and put it all together.

we did a project on romeo and juliet for school--my daughter picked out everything but there is no way anyone but me is using my beloved cricut. I helped her with all of that and she did the rest. She got a 100 percent but my boss at work who saw the picture asked what I got on it. my girl is not to crafty-she'll come up with something every once and a while. we used wallpaper for the backdrop. and k&company paper for the letters.

Great project scrap4you. Don't you wish we had cricuts when we were in school?

I think it is so great when children get involved with their parents lives. Even if it is crafts. These kids are going to go far in life. They have the incentive to look beyond their own world. So many parents are so involved in their own activities that they don't have the time to let their children participate in what they are doing. My boys learned how to iron, do laundry, etc. My girls learned how to fix the motors on their cars, how to hammer a nail, etc. I tried to take them beyond their assigned roles in life.
