I am looking into getting a Cricut. I want to also be able to cut vinyl cutouts for my husband's race car. I've looked at the SCAL and it looks great for fonts, but I wonder if it will work on images (clip arts) from my computer. Does anyone know any system that would do this or if there is a "racing" cartridge out there? I need something with flames, checkered flags, etc. My graphics guy has a $1000 system he uses, but I don't want to invest that much $ if I can't use it for scrapbooking too....

Welcome to the board! For racing decals you'll probably want to get the expression. ACM has a great bundle that comes with four cartridges. I'm personally not sure if there is a cartridge that has racing images on it. The Cars cartridge just has images from the movie. But ProvoCraft does have a program that's call Design Studio and you can manipulate any of the images from the cartridges that you have in your personal library. You can also check www.cricut.com they people on there are very talented with that program and someone may have a .cut file that could share. But to cut it you'd need the same cartridges that were used to make the image.

Hope some of this helps.

One of the cons to the Cricuts DS it is limited to only the cartridges that you load into the machine. Where did you get the twilight font? I have a pazzle and would love it. Thanks.

Kim, the Twilight font is called zephyr. I'm trying to find it but I'm having trouble getting it to load. If I can find it I will post it for you.

New here...and new to the Cricut world. However, not new to Twlight!!! I am a wolf pack and always have been. I just received my Cricut today. I ordered it from HSN for $399. It is the Cricut Expression Bundle Package. The machine, Your Story binding/laminating machine, 5 carts, 2 packs of ink, plus books for binding, paper and other goodies. I just toyed with it - but I know we are going to become very good friends - I love this machine with much passion happy

Hi Heather and welcome. I saw the Cricut bundle on HSN the other day. It looked like a good deal. I like that they offered the payment plan. That's the only way I'll ever be able to upgrade to an Expression-I have the original Cricut.

So you're Team Jacob, have you seen the new pictures for New Moon. A lot of wolf eye candy. :)

SCAL is great, but the learning curve with inkscape was huge for me! DS, with all it's limitations, was so much easier for me to learn.
