I got good news. Last night my baby daughter who by the way is 22, called and asked where the baby shower coursage was. (This old thing that was given to me 30 years ago at my shower and passed to every new mom in the family since then.) I said why, shes says I get it next. She did not one but 2 tests both are positive. I quess she thought if she kept trying she would get a negative. lol.

Oh and heres something funny, I asked her which hospital she wanted to go to. in Phila, she could have her pick. she said for what. I said sweety your not going to have this baby at home are you. You can if you want, but you would be more comfy at the hospital. she says oh I didn't even think about that.

With everything going on, something to look forward too. I was so afraid that I would not be able to hear by the time, she had a baby. See a few monthes ago, I found out I'm losing my hearing.

Well I just wanted to share.

How sweet that you kept your baby coursage, what a nice tradition. Congrats to your daughter.

Sorry about you losing your hearing, with so many inovations in that area, you might not lose it completely.

Grads and I am sorry that you are losing your hearing. I have been telling my mom she needs to get her hearing checked.

With today's new technology, there is so much they can do for hearing problems. And you age going to be able to hear that new family addition cry.

Once known for a brief time as Adele...

Congratulations on the addition to your family. Babies are such sweet blessings. Just think of all the scrapping opportunities you have coming up.

I'm sorry about you losing your hearing. I have been studying to become a sign language interpreter. It's a beautiful language. And remember that babies are great signers. They pick it up so much quicker than adults do. They can learn how to sign before they learn how to speak. It's amazing, I've seen it. I taught both of my sons to sign when they were babies. Just think you can be able to communicate with your grandchild before anyone else can.

Congratulations on your baby having a baby!!! How exciting. I love how she broke the news to you...that was so sweet.

So sorry to hear about your hearing loss. My daughter just finished an accelerated sign language class at the local community college. She learned alot in a short period of time...I was amazed. I had heard that about babies learning to sign, Janine...in fact...I think there may be a few youtube videos online of that. Best wishes to you, scrappingrandmom....enjoy!

Peace

thanks everybody. We went to the Dr the baby is due on 4/20/10. At least thats what they now. Who knows what will happen later.

A far as my hearing. it was a freaky thing I just happen to go for check up for work, and found that I had been losing it all along , and didn't know it. they say hearing aids will help for a while, But eventually it won't help. I have an appointmant next week, for the aids. Then a big shock when I found the the insurance doesn't pay for the aid. I would much rather buy glasses a whole lot cheaper. lol.

Right now I just thanking god. I plan to enjoy every moment of this.

Let me add my congratulations. I would tend to agree with Janine. You will likely have a very special bond with this child from the beginning, even more so because of the hearing issues.
