One of the ladies in the building goes to the public library every Wednesday and gets free movies. They go to the community room and have a nice night for themselves. Everyone brings cake, cookies, etc. Well with all the bad weather we had in June, she wasn't able to get to the library. So they asked around if anyone had a movie. The Pirate has a bunch that he hasn't watched yet and let them go through them and pick what they wanted to watch. The picked The Forty Year Old Virgin. There are two versions and the one my son had was the R rated one. It had a particular scene where the couple consummate their love. I was horrified when when I heard that the ladies were quite shocked when the scene came on the screen. I have to live in this building and face these people every day. But I guess they weren't shocked that badly. They watched the movie twice that night and have since asked to borrow it again. It is still the talk at their weekly Bingo game night. Maybe soft p o r n is the cure for old age!

No I haven't. And I doubt if I will. The Pirate told me the story and it didn't seem like I would care for it. I am more for romantic comedy and historic movies. I think my favorite movie is "Twelve Angry Men." I must have seen it at least ten times. It has a very powerful storyline.

That is too funny. My DD has that movie. I haven't watched it - I guess I better check out the rating.

Addie, when we lived in CA my father came to visit. He and DH went to the video store and rented movies. There was one in particular that had some very racy scenes. There I was sitting with my husband of less than a year and my FATHER watching something I swear should have been rated much worse than R. I don't send DH to the video store anymore.

And to this day dear daddy is wondering if he can trust his baby girl with this man that took his little girl away from him. BLOL

Back to "12 Angry Men" . . . that is one of our favorite movies; we like movies from the forties, fifties and early sixties. Crime drama is a favorite, the Sam Spade/Phillip Marlow hard-boiled detective type is good and so are Johny Money and the Mr. Wong movies. And lots more. Sorry. Threadjack.
