Does anyone have any helpful hints about how to do them or a great website that shows clearly step by step how to do them?

The last project I had with a French Knot I left it out because it didn't really make that much of a difference but with this project I can't leave them out.

This site gives very easy to understand instructions with drawings.

Once you know how to do them, they can be fun. I once did a 60x90 inch tablecloch in wicking. That is what it is called when the whole piece is done in French knots.

Glad to be of help. Gotta luv this forum. Someone always comes up with an answer. Am glad that you are able to finish your project. And if you really liked doing French Knots, then Google Colonial Wicking Sewing projects. It is all French Knots.
