Hi there! I'd like to know why there aren't more counted cross stitching projects here, or am I looking in the wrong places. Or maybe under the wrong categories? Can anyone shed some light for me, please?

Most of the contributors do cards and scrapbooking. Then knitting and crocheting comes in second.

Thanks for your answer, but I'm rather disappointed in with it. I much prefer counted cross stitching to scrapbooking any day. Lorie

I understand. I dont do either. But I do appreciate it very much when I receive a hand made card. And I love looking at them. Such talent. I prefer crocheting and knitting and then stamped cross stitch myself. Maybe some day I will take the time to learn counted cross stitch.

I am a cross stitcher, have been for 20 years. I design alot of my own pieces. There just is not as much cross stitch out there in the stores anymore, unfortunately. But if I can be of any help, let me know.

Hi lorief1....you can be the resident expert on the topic! Maybe there are hundreds of people out there reading who just may come and join the fun....but someone has to give them the incentive. I used to do cross stitch projects....but I stopped because of the strain on my eyes. I thought there was a post here by someone saying that they'd be willing to share patterns.

Hi! I would love to, but I don't have enough free time to devote enough time to doing something like that. I can tell you this: you can get magnifying glasses to wear or use a magnifier which can be hung around the neck to help you see the holes in the fabric better. Or you could start using larger count fabric. Experiment; you might surprise yourself! Lorie

Thanks...yes...I've seen the magnifiers that you hang around your neck. Great invention. I hear you about not having enough time to devote. I enjoyed the cross stitch, and I've enjoyed scrapbooking...but I think I've found my "nitch" with card making and "altering" things. I'd like to get into more mixed media...but will probably have to wait until I retire (which will be this coming May) when I hope to have more time on my hands.
Peace My Blog
