I received 2 sample skeins of a wild new yarn from Red Heart called Pomp-a-Doodle. It's a thin cord type yarn with big poofs of pom-poms every 1.5 inches or so. I haven't yet seen it at my A.C. Moore, and I sure hope they get in every color of the rainbow, because it's pretty cute. I got a blue and a purple one. The purple one is currently in the process of getting knitted into a scarf. Will post pics of that hopefully tomorrow-ish. For now, here's my blue Pomp-a-Doodle: My website: http://www.naztazia.com | My YouTube videos: http://www.youtube.com/naztazia | Certified Red♥Heart Ambassador My Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/donnaferawolfe | My Ravelry: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/naztazia

As promised, the pom-pom scarf. Interesting yarn, for sure. Are your eyes getting sore from all the purple? NAZ! This yarn is so cool! Have you been getting a lot of free samples from Red Heart? I haven't received anything since I got my Red Heart Embassador package.
What size needle did you use for making that beautiful scarf?

Nah, not a lot of samples at all. But that's OK - I still love their products. This one I actually knitted with size 9 knitting needles, but I'm making something similar in crochet with an H crochet hook. Quite honestly, this yarn is so unique that you can't tell whether you've knitted or crocheted with it. Most of the colors on Red Heart site seem darker - I'm hoping they come out with lighter colors, as I think this yarn would make for cute baby items. The nice thing about it is those poofs don't pull out. I've seen other novelty yarn that you just slightly tug on it and the whole thing comes out. They are in there pretty good. OK.. I have not been able to find this yarn at ANY store. So I went to RedHeart.com and ordered one skein of each color. I can't wait to start crocheting with it. Hopefully, I can convince my local AC Moore store to stock it. Otherwise, I'll be doing a lot of online shopping!

How cute. I could totally see my nieces wearing a whole hat/scarf combo (mind your they are only 2). Fun yarn.

Got my Pomp-A-Doodle yarn over the week-end. OMG... I think I'll have to brush up on my knitting because I could not handle the yarn with my crochet hook. Had a hard time seeing the loops with all those pom-poms in the way.

Well.. believe it or not.. Our dear RedHeart Ambassador leader, Ms. Sams, has produced a video that shows how to crochet with the pomp-a-doodle yarn. I watched it several times and I think I just might be able to try it this week-end. *crosses fingers*.
