Does anyone have a pattern for Trigger Finger Mittens made in worsted weight yarn? I don't care if they are knitted or crocheted. I have looked at several different websites and the patterns aren't what I am looking for. The closest pattern I found wasn't complete and since I haven't knit in 20 years I need a comlete pattern! I would like to make several pairs for Christmas gfts. I just need the old fashion thumb, trigger finger and the the 3 finger mitten pattern. A plus would be if someone could tell me how many stitches to add or what size needles to use as my husband has large hands and the pattern I am attempting is a man's medium.

Thanks so much.

Hi, I have found 2 sites that may interest you.

http://fiberlife.blogspot.com/2005/08/method-for-basic-mans-glove-size-extra.html

and for help with sizing; http://knitty.com/ISSUEfall02/PATTbroadstreet.html

Hope you can access these and that they are some help. All the fingers are exposed, but if I find one with only the trigger finger, I will send you that one as well. If you work them up and like them, pass them back to me, as my husband and I both wear shooter's gloves, but I always bought them. (was not a knitter back then)

While we wear ours for the intended purpose, they really free up your hands for all sorts of things, knitting included.

I have made these four times so far (with more to knit with a modified pattern) and am very pleased with the way they turned out. They are "smokers gloves", but I suppose they could be adapted for trigger finger mittens. If you would like any more info about the ways I have modified the pattern, I'd be glad to share!

Note about pattern - it calls for a size 5 dpn, but I found a size 6 and the largest size worked best for my hubby's big hands. I did make a pair using the smallest size and the size 5 and they fit me perfectly! I usually don't have to change my needle sizes on patterns, because it is usually right on gauge, but not so with this one.

BTW, I'm from Maine, too!!
