Does anyone know of any brand other than the TLC that has a textured yarn similar to the TLC Amore yarn? I have friends who want scarves made in colors other than what is available with TLC. It has to be the worsted weight size and at least 5 ozs.

I'm desparate here ladies!

I love that TLC Amore yarn! The good news is because it's a Coats & Clark item, they had sold a Red Heart product that was the exact same thing. It's called Red Heart Plush yarn.

Here are the colors:

The bad news is they just discontinued it this past Spring 2009. But I have seen it in the sale aisles of AC Moore... and I'm sure eBay and the like might have it.

I'll also try to think of other brands if the above doesn't work out.

Thanks Naz! I'll check out my A.C. Moore stores near me and see if any of them still have it and a few other stores (whose names I won't mention in here.. smiles) to see if they may have it as well.

You know, the only other yarn I could think of that is kind of similar to it is Moda Dea's Metro. Of course that's recently discontinued too (another Coats & Clark product). Unfortunately it is a #5 - bulky weight, and not a true worsted weight. But it's a lighter bulky weight if that makes sense.

I like the Amore (both in the regular and baby) because of their soft texture and the fact that they both are machine wash and dryable. I personally do not like the Moda Dea's yarn because of the fact that it's so bulky and some are not machine wash and dryable.
