ac moore has 1.00 stamps called studio G. You can get them at mikes too. They also carry the small ink pads, Chalk and glitter glue for a buck. Check for sales on card stock. Fill out a profile on this forum and do a few swaps if you can. Welcome aboard! were glad to have you!!

You'll learn a few basic stamping techniques at the StampinUp! party. I suggest that you pay attention..the information the demonstrator gives should hopefully, be useful. (For instance, when putting ink on the stamp, hold the stamp in your hand, and lightly pat the stamp with the ink pad...and not the other way around.) I love StampinUp! stamps..and I love their product catalog where you can find all kinds of ideas for your cards. Yes, they are more expensive...but you get sets, and not individual stamps. The stamps are good quality, and the images you get using them are always nice and crisp. I sound like a commercial..lol...so I'm going to add that I have no special interest in StampinUp!...other than I love their product shifty

Lately, I've been doing lots of stamping on my cards....but I don't always...You can make lovely greeting cards with just cardstock, patterned paper, and embellishments!

Have fun.

Peace

Since you are going to a stamping up class, you are going to learn quite a bit - enjoy. Start slow - don't buy everything and team up with someone - you buy something and she can buy something else and then share - that's the best way to get the most for your money.

One thing I'll add though - I've bought glitter glues and then I've bought glitter glues. There is a difference. If you are just spreading the glitter glue on - any will do. If you want to be exact, invest in Stickles - they are the best. They flow smooth and even - you can practically write with them. They are not that expensive - you can find them on line usually for $1.50 a bottle - it's a small bottle, whereas some of the others have a great big bottle for the same price, but with the Stickles, a little goes a long way.

I'm glad you signed up here - join a swap or two, you'll get lots of ideas from others. We also do stamp swaps where we swap stamped images. You get some adorable images without having to buy a bunch of stamps.

Your house will never be clean again, your laundry will pile up, you'll be cutting coupons out like crazy, your dinners will be late, you'll be on the internet looking for ideas/freebies/swaps/message boards...I can go on and on but what fun I have!

Elayne - I didn't want to scare her off right away - LOL But the truth will come out. It is addicting. I'm going on vacation soon and the thought crossed my mind - will they have a scrapbook group on the boat??? Should I bring anything - remember you're only allowed 50lbs check in - LOL
