I love this post. It just goes on and on.
BTW, thanks Naz for your help. It answered all my questions. Would you believe I racked my brain for more than a week trying to remember how to bind off? Definitely a senior moment. Then it came to me in a flash. I think G o d was getting tired of playing with me. And of course it didn't occur to me to look it up until after my memory returned.

This is a sweater I made for my friends little boy Jacob. The pattern was in crochet world July 09.
It was too adorable not to make it.
I also made a shawl for my cousin, but it was black and for the life of me, I couldn't get a picture to come out. They all looked like a black triangle.

The sweater turned out great!!!! Maybe if you take the shawl outside and take a pic it will turn out better. I have done that with a few on my projects, the lighting is soooo much better.

I am currently making a bunch of small scarves to be sold at my work's United Way event coming up next Wednesday. They will have a table set up to sell my scarves. Half the proceeds I make for the sale of the scarves will go to United Way.

finished this yesterday. took about a month doing the squares, worked on them during my lunch. got it sewed together on Friday, and took 7 hours yesterday tucking in all the ends. it is 6x6, just have it folded in quarters

Well, I'm back to completing orders that I received for scarves. Bombed on my craft show this past week-end. Table was $40.00 and I think I made about $20.00. Didn't sell one scarf - and I had a lot of them there. So now I have this huge tote bag full of completed scarves and no one to buy them! *sighs*

That's what this economy and sky-high unemployment does for the craft business. I went to an annual bead show in Wilkes-Barre, PA this past weekend, and hardly anyone was there. And those there weren't buying much. The same time the last couple of years ladies were pushing and shoving me out of the way to get to the vendors. The church fair is coming up this month and they are saying that they are going to price everything really low. There is no money out there. Every month when I go shopping, I try to spend at least $5 for their food bank. By getting generic and house brands I can buy three or four large boxes of cereal.It is the least I can do to give back to the community. I made about four of those woven hot pads for the fair. A lot of the women who make things, take a percentage of the sale. That just seems so wrong to me. You give it to the church to sell for their coffers. Not to line your own pockets. I hope they make a reasonable amount of money this year. At least as much as they did last year.
Massachusetts is getting into a bad shape. There are no jobs to be had anywhere. Our unemployment rate is bordering on 10%. And Rhode Island is even higher. The stimulus money is just not helping unless you are in the construction industry.

unemployment is very high in PA also. going to a craft sale this weekend and one next weekend, so I will see is anyone is buying, including me. Usually I just buy NASCAR stuff. Here is a map of PA with the #'s
