Has anyone tried airbrushing? My fiancé's parents purchased me a kit a few years ago for christmas and I still haven't used it! Mainly because I'm not sure what is good "practice." I don't want to waste the paint because it is very expensive. Thanks in advance!!

Sounds like my mom, she has an airbrush kit she bought a few years ago and has never used it, I want to play with it so bad, lol! Maybe you should try airbrushing an old shirt or something with it, I think that would be good practice, and if your worried about messing up, get some stencils and just spray them.
Good Luck!!!

I would practice on scrap wood or posterboard or even old sheets - whatever flat surface you could find. Even though the paint is expensive, you gotta start somewhere

I have used acrylic craft paints in my Badger 250. You have to thin it down.A trick is good old fashion Windex window cleaner. Of course you'll want the clear stuff so it doesn't change the paint color, but it will reduce acrylic paint, and it atomizes just fine. Much cheaper to practice with than the airbrush paint. Just make sure to keep the tip clean of dried paint. This is the type of air brush I have.

yea i airbrush tee shirts and sell them at craft shows ^^ its not that hard really and paint is relatively cheap. like 3.50 a bottle. but 1 bottle lasts a long time because you have top water most paints by like 30-60% http://www.myspace.com/frozenshade6669

DH has a set that has been in the garage for a LONG time. I think when he goes to sea duty I am gonna use it on cake!
