I am thankful that I will get my SS check tomorrow, and my FS on Saturday. So My oldest son will take me shopping on Sunday. I am definitely thankful for him along with my other children. They all check in on me at least once a day to make sure I am all right and if I need anything. I have really great kids.
I am also thankful that we received a very large COLA in FS last month. It makes a world of difference for senior citizens as to whether they will get their medicines or food.

I am thankful for my family, friends (including forum), church and most of all, my salvation in the Lord.

I am thankful that next week someone else will be cooking Thanksgiving dinner and all I have to do is show up!

I am thankful I made it home this evening. I left to go to town this eve. and slid sideways down the mountain. SCARY I must say. We've been getting snow and it has thawed and re frozen on the hill. As you can read, I made it back up, put it in 4 wheel drive and got a good running start. So yes, I'm thankful to be home. (Weather man calling for an additional 7" on top of what we already have)

Glad to hear that you are okay. Driving in snow and ice is not fun.

I wouldn't have been so tense, but a neighbor had left their vehicle at the bottom of the hill, they didn't want to drive up. So there was a chance that I would take out their car. I was going slowly and tapping the breaks, but I just kept sliding. when I let up on the break I would slide twd the car, so the operating the break kept me somewhat slow. If the other car hadn't been there, I could have gone onto the side and gotten some traction (the other side is a deep ditch - car wrecking deep) Anyway, all's well that ends well. Thankful Thursday indeed!!!

It's THANKSGIVING! What are you thankful for on this most awesome THANKFUL THURSDAY? Me? Even though I am not feeling well (could have been the 13 hour drive to Florida) I am THANKFUL to for my life. Last night actually EARLY EARLY this morning we were in the home stretch, literally 5 minutes from MIL's house. We were nearly sideswiped by a car going at LEAST 100 mph and being chased by EIGHT, yes I said EIGHT police cars. I tell you that but for the GRACE of that car would have taken out my side of the van, it was so fast and so close that DH had ZERO time to react. Today could have been so much different had that split second gone awry...

Thirteen years ago today my daughter was born. She was 2 weeks late and I was VERY grumpy. There is a WHOLE lot that goes to the story but I will spare you most of the details and just say at the moment she entered the world there was no big announcement only rushing and whispers. She was blue and not crying no one dared say a thing. After moments that seemed like days I yanked off my o2 mask and asked is it a boy or a girl? A corpsman said "a boy...no wait...a girl" to which I relied "if you don't even know that get away from my kid!" at that she let out her first wail and I knew she would be ok.
She is a gift and a miracle, most babies having been deprived of o2 that long would have a host of problems, not her. Unless you count exceptional strong will and the newly discovered rolling of the eyes...
So today I am thankful for her, her health, her determination and for making her almost exactly like me...even though she shudders at that thought.

Today I am thankful that my internet seems to be working... that I have forum friends to chat with... that it is raining here and NOT cold! (I actually have the windows open!) that even though my dryer is on the fritz I have $ for the laundry mat!
