My 7yr old daughter loves to stitch on plastic canvas. She doesn't follow a pattern or anything, but she just loves to make different pictures...

I did one plastic canvas project many years ago -- a purse shaped like a house -- but it was very hard on my fingers and I gave up trying to do any more plastic canvas work after that.

AC Moore and JoAnn Fabric's have plastic canvas project sheets available. You can also Google the topic and locate many other resources for supplies on the topic. I stop by the local thrift stores (Goodwill and Salvation Army etc) and find more that I need, but not all the times. It seems as when our older generation pass on, their craft items are donated to the local stores. You will find many easy patterns that you can trace onto the plastic and then use different yard to complete the project. It is a trick that we use for new users on their first project. You can also download patterns from the computer, copy them and then trace for your convenience. Google, ASK, and several other search engines are a great source for this type of information. Also your local craft stores have classes offered throughout the store and if you do not see a class you want, then feel free to ask at the customer service desk and they usually add it on to their list of classes for the future. Good Luck and enjoy crafting - it is really relaxing too.happy

My MIL had patterns for Barbie Doll rooms. They folded up into a carrying case and had furniture and everything. Of course DD is all big now (she is 12) but I have a little girl in daycare who I would LOVE to make one of these for. trouble is MIL doesn't have the patterns anymore and I don't even have a CLUE where to start looking or them, any ideas?

My grandmother still has patterns and refuses to part with them. Check e-bay under 'plastic canvas barbie.' I found some of them there.

I do plastic canvas as well as other crafts. Check out Ac Moore or sometimes Jo-Ann Fabrics for books. You can also find patterns online on E-bay, Annie's Attic, and Needlecraft Shop.

Hi Virginia ~ I started my crafting with plastic canvas. I have not worked with that in years and years. I took up stamping, card making, crocheting, knitting, scrapbooking and beads. Yep, I have a room full of EVERYTHING I have attempted and laid aside. But I have not thought of plastic canvas in awhile. I have some canvas in my room. I may need to get it out and work with it some. I have messed up on pinky on my right hand and I have been able to knit since Jan. So I have been crocheting dish cloths for Christmas presents. But I think I may check into the plastic again. Got any good patterns or tips you want to share?

I just started doing pc almost a year ago and love it. I'm finding it harder to find supplies and patterns. I'm finding the best prices on ebay, and www.everythingplasticcanvas.com.

I haven't done plastic canvas in years, but reading all the comments with attachments makes me want to start up again. That is another great part of this site.

[angel] Hello, I just joined today, and the way I found this was searching for free patterns for plastic canvas. I was doing crochet for dishtowels and forgot alot of the stitches, so I saw a pattern in the little book I had, and it has a watermelon and apple on plastic canvas, but they crocheted onto the plastic canvas, and me I could not fiqure that out so, I have been doing it just stitching on the plastic canvas, and it is turning out okay. But, what I was looking for, was other patterns, because we worked in a vineyard close by, this summer, my husband got laid off in June, and I do not have work, so we worked there, and I wanted to do a grape pattern, and also a strawberry pattern, because they gave us alot of grapes, and I made jelly, and I picked strawberries, also, and I was going to give relatives, the jellies and the towels, but every website I went to, I could not find these patterns. If anyone out there can help me, I would greatly appreciate it! I would love to know about the plastic canvas ornaments also, I have cross stitched them, and painted the poreclein, ones, and also, the painting on the Christmas fiqurines, but I have not done the plastic canvas ones!! Thank you all for your info!!!!
