I was looking at the Design studio cart and was wondering can you download your own font ? I wanted to do some Twilight stuff and wanted to get the right font to make it . I have to download the font but wanted to know I could use it with the Design studio ?? Anyone have the DS cart and do this with it ??

Thanks

I have the DS and you have to use your catridges for designs.

Is the DS really good?
I have picked them up and looked at them but did not know if I would
actually get much use out of it.

I've heard they are coming out with a new version of the Design Studio. If you can hold off, it might be worth the wait. Just a thought.

i heard that SCAL's is a whole lot better because u don't have too buy any carts for it u can DL the fonts or anything & it makes it. Does anybody have the SCAL & is it true what they say . Because i have debating on which one to get & it just seems that they say u can do more with the SCAL then the DS. The DS u can only use the carts u have to cut anything with it.

SCAL is Sure Cuts A Lot. You can download fonts with the SCAL software but not with Design Studio.

I just got DS for Christmas and I've been playing around with it a little. With DS you can only cut with the carts that you own. You can also share files with other people of designs that they have made.

Coastermom, what quote are you going to use? I'm reading "Breaking Dawn" now and I am sooooo loving this series. When you find the Twilight font can you post the link here please?

It looks like the AC Moore on South Ave isn't closing after all. My niece is working there now. happy

Yes I know about the store on South Ave. happy
I am unsure what to use I like ... Be Safe .. when Edward leaves bella a note and he signs it BE SAFE . I also like ... Take care of my heart I left it with you , there are so many if I listed them all I would never stop. I didn't want to make it too long though. I like them on the back of a car and one woman put Be Safe over her front door as people leave.

So how much do you love Breaking Dawn?? What part are you up to ? I am so hooked on Everything Twilight Ilove it .

When I find the font I will let you know. I so wish the cart could be used with my computer and any font.

A quick Google found this answer...The font used on the covers is called Zephyr:
FREE http://www.font-zone.com/download.php?fid=1323

And finally here: http://www.bellaandedward.com/funfonts.php

Of course I don't know anything about the series, but I do know about finding Fonts! So I hope that is what you were looking for.

coastermom, I like the "Be safe" quote. This series is so good, I'm hoping to finish it this weekend. I'll PM you which part I'm up to. I don't want to ruin it for anyone else here who's reading the series.

Cr8ive Life, thanks for posting the fonts. I was snooping around the other day and I found some.

For anyone that has SCAL how did you get to update your Cricut ? Do you already have the DS software and just got SCAL or did you use the cricut site to upload the sample of DS and then updated your cricut that way ? I also wanted to know what kind of USB did you use mine are all so small for the cricut machine. I need a larger one .

Ant help is great ... Thanks

Janine ... I got your PM I also hate that name ... It was a nice idea though ..
So I am hooked and just ordered the DVD . I am so hooked on the guy who plays Edward too . My kids and Hubby think I am nutty the guy is only like 22 . I am almost old enough to be his mom LOL ... I know it is sad ..lol

coastermom, I know what you mean. I think that Robert Pattinson is the perfect Edward. I can picture him while I'm reading.

A newer version of DS? Now i am really not sure if i want that or SCAL. Anyone know much about either of them? I use photoshop elements 5 to digital scrapbook and it would be so awesome if you could cut the fonts you use in that!

I am looking into getting a Cricut. I want to also be able to cut vinyl cutouts for my husband's race car. I've looked at the SCAL and it looks great for fonts, but I wonder if it will work on images (clip arts) from my computer. Does anyone know any system that would do this or if there is a "racing" cartridge out there? I need something with flames, checkered flags, etc. My graphics guy has a $1000 system he uses, but I don't want to invest that much $ if I can't use it for scrapbooking too....
