Does anyone have any summer projects they're planning for? I'm always looking for small things to knit in the spring/summer(I don't knit blankets when it's 100 degrees in DC!). My current plan ...baby hats to donate to the hospital, but I'm sure I'll get bored with that after I've done a few!

I personally am on this scarf and sock kick for both knit/crochet. Almost everything I've purchased in the past 2 weeks has been that really fine sock-weight yarn. I have 3 lightweight summer scarves going on right now with sock yarn. Also working on this cutesy (and easy) yoga sock pattern from Patons.

This is not my picture below - it's the one from the Patons website: http://www.patonsyarns.com/whatsNew.php#newFreePatterns

Hey all, I Like to do the dish cloths/wash cloths in the summer. They are
small and easy to take with you. There is a pattern book out there called
Washcloths for Baby, and last summer I made every one of the patterns and
did some other ones with birds, hearts, flowers, etc. to fill in, and then
I put the squares together and made a baby blanket. Actually I made two
baby blankets. This summer I plan to coordinate colors and do enough
dish cloth squares in various designs to make a lap throw to use in my
family room. angel

I'm finishing up a blanket I hope to be done by the end of next week, it's about 53 inches currently and I'm going for 55 inches I think, I might do 60, it all depends on how I feel about if it feels done when I get to 55 inches. Then I'm going to be working on cross-stitch projects and painting with working on a shawl on the side. I'm also thinking about doing a few scarves and maybe a soap saver.

I've been making baby/toddler hats for our church fall Harvest Festival. Was dying to try the Bernat Baby Jacquard and have been so pleased. It's the most fun yarn I've ever used. Normally, I'm plain Jane but have found it so exciting to see the pattern this yarn makes on its own. Using 40% off coupons at various stores has made this is a very affordable, long-term project for the summer. Living in New England, I try to stay away from larger crochet or knit projects as the summer weather gets pretty toasty here. Surprise! We've had the coolest summer I've ever experienced.
