My husband got me Cricut Design Studio for Christmas but I haven't have too mcuh time to play around with it. This is my first attempt at welding letters. I made this LO from a trip me and my husband took into the city to see Harry Connick Jr. My husband got us tickets to his Christmas show for our anniversary. We went the day after Thanksgiving so we got to go by the tree at Rockerfeller Center also. It's hard to see from the picture but the white is glittery paper. I used the drippy goo punch for the top of the page and Mickey Font for the letters.

Thanks scrap4you. The show was great. I love Harry Connick Jr. also. His kids and his wife were there. His daughters went up on the stage and his middle daughter, Kate, sang a duet with him. They live in the city so a bunch of their friends from school were there too. He put a on a really fun show. The Mickey Font cart is great. I love the big, chunky letters. It also has characters on it so you get a lot on this cart. M's has the Disney carts on sale this week for 30.00. I found mine at Wal-mart on clearance for 25.00 last summer. That punch is great, I love it. They released it last Halloween and it was so hard to find one. It was the "Tickle Me Elmo" of the scrapbooking world. It's Martha Stewart and now they are going to re-release it (not as a seasonal because it has so many uses).

Once you get the hang of it , it is. It takes a little playing around with it to learn the software. I made some wine glass tags to go on the bottom of wine glasses so you know whose glass is whose. I'll post a picture once I dress them up.

Thanks Trentfamily. I absolutely love that punch. I find a lot of uses for it. I heard that it's being re-released now if you didn't get one last year.

Can you give some explanation on how/what you did on the welding? This is new to me. I couldn't find the punch last year so I will start watching for it again.

KarenJo, sorry it took me so long to get back to this thread. I've been sick and this is the first day I can hold my head up for more than 2 minutes so of course I had to come here. ;) I used the Cricut Design Studio to weld the letters. It's software for your computer and it has a cable that you plug into your cricut and your USB port on your computer. Sorry if you already knew what it was, I'm heavily medicated on antibiotics, yuck. I used the Mickey Font for the letters. Open up your design studio program on your computer. Type in what you want and while you still have to letters inside the box check the "weld" box in the top right hand corner of your screen and then click apply. Everything inside the box will get welded together. Before you cut, click the preview tab to make sure you like it. If you do, hit cut (the scissors) if you don't, go back and change it. For the kerning box I usually set it at -0.1. Let me know if you need some more tips. I did have to play around with the software a little to get the feel for it.
