Hi Everyone,
I joined a while ago but here I am now. I started scrapbooking in 2002 with Creative Memories. After 4 yrs of CM I decided to branch out. My husband bought me a Cricut in Aug. 2006 and totally changed my life and wallet.
I also have been making cards and selling them for the last 3 yrs.

Welcome. Tell us about selling your cards. I am not a cardmaker, but quite a few on the boards are and would probably love ideas on how to market their creations.

Thanks everyone for the welcome.
Last year I was getting my hair done and they have a small boutique in the Salon. So my hair stylist suggested I bring my cards in for them to see.
So I did and while the girl was looking at them people were coming over to me and buything the cards, I had no idea how much to charge. Like my husband says "Nobody can pay for your time and it is a hobby so charge really for the paper and embellishments". Some people said 5.00. I was selling them for 3.00 for a small card and a larger card 4.00.
So the women in the Boutique she sells very high end items 700.00 for a small clutch bag! over the top. So she ordered 20 cards from me, the people just getting their hair done were buying right then and their. So that day paid for my hair cut and color, I made well over 100.00.
So the Hair Salon the Stylists and the Colorest buy my cards are a regular basis. Even though I say 3.00 they give me between 4.00 and 5.00 for the cards.
The Boutique went out of business I was annoyed because she just pulled out all her stuff and left all my books of cards laying around.
I found out later she was selling my cards for $8.00 to $10.00 (who in their right mind would pay that amount) I was only getting 3.00 on the cards she was selling!!
So I am glad now she pulled out. Less stress for me.
I enjoy making cards for my family and friends and love scrapbooking. I also take care of 2 children in the summer so my card making is basically at a stand still.

Wow. I am sure your work is beautiful, but as you said, who in the world would pay $10 for a card? I guess someone with more money than sense, huh? :) What a rotten thing to do to you.

Ditto what Rett said! People can do some rotten things for a buck or two.
