I have had a rough several weeks for a number of reasons. I was on vacation from work this past week to get my children ready for college/high school and have been fretting all day about what I didn't get done. As in, what chores, errands, whatever that I was backed up from doing, that I didn't get done -- while I was supposed to be off from work, enjoying myself and my family. Good Grief! So I started thinking on the other hand - what did I do that WAS amazing? I spent time, real time with my teenagers - time they wanted to spend with me!! Both of my teens had numerous friends over because Mom and Dad welcome their friends, their clutter, their noise, their raiding the pantry - PLUS - they're wanting to be here because we can welcome all of the above because we have a house that can accommodate two sets of teens, we are physically able to "clean up the mess" as a family, we can afford all those snacks (okay that can put a hurt on the food budget, but when it is gone, it is gone), and they are not totally embarrassed by their parents (cuz they know we are going to stop in to see what is going). We went to the beach, the movies, back to school/college shopping, etc. We overall have our health, and most importantly, our faith!
So, even though I am a "positive" person, I want to try and post each day something I have done that is AMAZING, and I know you have too! Sometimes I forget to share these thoughts outside my prayers. And you know what, if I don't get to post for a day or two or even a week, it is because so many amazing things have been happening I haven't had a chance!
So, for today, my amazing act has been to decide to marinade steaks (praise the Lord we could afford them) and cook them in my raincoat in a much-need rainstorm with the thunder and lightening several miles away and enjoy dinner with my family!!
