Yeah, I haven't seen her around lately either. Boards usually slow down a little bit in the summer.

Yikes, that seems late. I remember we didn't go back to school until after the labor day holiday. Our kids in Fl. returned to school aug. 24th.

Here in Jersey the kids go back on the 8th. Labor day fell late this year. I work in a school so that means I have to go back also.

And that is the way it should be. I hate it that my kids have to go back to school in August.

In Pierce County, WA, they have "Track" schooling. That means the kids go to school year round. They all get two weeks off at the end of August. It is great system. The parents love it. They can plan vacations around when their child is off track for four weeks. Even the kids love it.

Anyone tried e-mailing them? I know Joanne goes off for long stretches and then pops back in...I was offline this week due to colds, several people PM'ed me but I did not get the notices so when someone is MIA e-mailing is a better option.

My son went back on August 25, but another district in our county over near the beach goes back on September 8. The business community had a fit when they thought about starting before Labor Day because they can't afford to lose their high school workers until Labor Day weekend is over. One of our elementary schools in our district does the year round thing, but the rest are regular calendar. My son does get out on June 3 next year plus they are giving them off the entire week for Thanksgiving, two weeks for Christmas and a week for Easter plus the other various days. Seems like they are pushing toward a year round for the district.

Addie, I've never heard of the Track schooling but it does sound interesting.

The boards usually slows down in the summer. Hopefully once everyone gets back into their routines they come and check in.

Cr8ive, I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better and I'm happy to see you posting again.

KarenJo, I didn't even think of the kids with summer jobs going back to school before Labor Day weekend. I live in a beach town but we don't go back until the 8th.

I work in a school so when the kids go back that means I have to go back too. Oh well, I'm getting excited for Halloween and the Fall now.
