EDITED - PLEASE NOTE ---- I moved my message up here to make it easier for everyone to read and refer back to. I also made a couple of minor changes or clarifications, so read again. I'll need to have everyone signed up by no later than September 20. As soon as I have the sign-up list, I'll post it. I'll include the address list inside the box as has been done before. It's a holiday swap, so items should be reflective of either Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa. I love the colors of Kwanzaa even though I don't celebrate it, but there was one request for it, so if anyone wants to share Kwanzaa - it will be used. I think the same rules should apply as has been before since they seem to be quite fair. Turn around is 3 days from receipt. Delivery cofirmation is required. Use a flatrate box - try to find the one that holds the 12x12 paper flat without folding or bending. A flat rate box will help to keep the shipping cost down. The post office will provide them free for you. Small items should be contained in a plastic baggie. All embellishments should be quality. They don't have to be new packages, anything from your stash that you are not using is fine, but they should be in good shape. Paper - limit paper to 4-6 sheets each person not total for the box - try to make it at least 2 matching sheets (in case someone wants to use it for a 2 page layout) Tools again don't have to be new but they do have to be in good condition. You might have a stencil, die, stamp or punch that you don't use anymore. Ink pads or re-inkers need to be packaged in plastic baggies to prevent messes. It would be a good idea to also put some tape over inkpad covers to make sure that they stay in place. Ribbon should be at least 12 inches so that it can be used on a scrapbook page. Since we're working within a short timeframe, just remember - only 3 days for browsing. Other than that, you know the drill - Don't take out diamonds and put in coal. And let's have fun

Question for the old timers. What do you think needs to be done to make this and future RRs successful like the first one we did? Sorry if I put this in the wrong place. I will post it in the RR forum also. Thanks

Sounds like fun and I do love holiday stuff but I will have to bow out this go round. We are way over budget on the bathroom and now the kitchen sink decided to rebel so it is looking like income tax refund for next year is already spent...there goes my Gypsy!

frndly1 wrote:fuzzy are you going to start the RR? Frndly1 you and Wendy are more familiar with this than I, but I think I can start it and keep track. Only thing - I checked dates on the last RR since we would have to get this going quickly and WOW we would have to have a real committment from everyone for a quick turn around. I noticed that it took a little over two months to go around 12 people. That's really not bad because that's about 6 people a month, that's an average of maybe 5 days per person. Do you think we can do it? I'd hate for the last people to be getting the box in December - kind of defeats the purpose of the swap. Also we have the name swap which should be starting real soon. If you think we can do it, I'm game. If not we can wait and in January do a "Spring Swap". I can give myself a reminder to start a Holiday one as maybe a Christmas (Hannukah) in July swap. What do you think?

I think it could work if everyone is committed to send the package out as soon as possible. I will help you. One thing is whatever size that goes out needs to be the size that comes back.. Or you can do 2 swaps at the same time. You have my support no matter what you do.

i'm in and i think that if everybody sends the box back out in 3 days that it should be able to get around faster but only those that are really commented in doing so

It looks like there are 8 and with me 9 people participating. If you are interested, you have until the 20th to decide if you want to sign up.
Also, some have PM'd me their address, but not all, if you want to be in and haven't given me your address, I'll need it. We can't ship a box without an address. Also, a PM with your address confirms that you still want to be in on this.
so far I have
Frndly1 (got your PM) bersie (got your PM) jenbustilo (got your PM) bluucaca (got your PM) scrap4you (got your PM) applebooty1981 (got your PM) scrapbook girl still need your's if you're in winnie64 (got your PM)
Looking forward to sharing.
