So what is everyone reading right now?

I'm reading The Rescue by Nicholas Sparks. I really enjoy his books. This one was a little hard for me in the beginning because a handicapped boy and his mother are in a car accident in the middle of a bad storm. The mother comes to and the boy is missing. It was hard for me to get through the beginning because my younger son is handicapped.

I got Patrick Swayze's memoir that I can't wait to start.

The library by my house has a huge used book sale once a year. I wait all year for this sale. I picked up a few of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series, Tuesdays With Morey by Mitch Albom and Sunday At Tiffanys.

I'm in the middle of "The Story Sisters" by Alice Hoffman. all of her books are on the unusual side but I'm captivated by them.

I went to the library last week to put my name down for "The Lost symbol"...good grief I'm 450 on the list!! I watched Dateline last night where they interviewed the author and he showed where most of the story was based on actual facts, it was really really interesting. My father was a free mason and belonged to the Shriners so its particularly fascinating to me.

I rarely read more than one book at a time, unlike my daughter who often reads three or four at a time, but I have started Mary Higgins Clark's On the Street Where You Live and The Defense by d.w. Buffa. Neither has reached out and grabbed me yet, but I have only had time to read right before bed so it just may be that I am too tired to get into them.

Just finished Debbie Macombers newest Cedar Cove book, and am reading some light inspirational Christian love stories when I travel or eat alone when I am away. Always have one in my purse.

The way my day has gone today, I am happy to have read the newspaper. I know this is an out-of-date custom, but I greatly enjoy my cup of tea and the morning paper on occasion. It is almost like being on the Andy Griffith Show!

I'm with you, I have to read my paper and have my coffee every morning to start my day off. Its a nice quiet time to slide into the day.

KarenJo, I not one of those people either who can read more than one book at a time. I don't know how they do it. The stories get all jumbled in my head. I love Mary Higgins Clark. Her books are great. I've been reading her books since I'm 12 years old.

BonBon, how is Mackenzie Phillips books? It sound interesting. I saw her on Oprah a few weeks ago. I really enjoy reading biographies.

Deeann, I really like Debbie Macomber too. She writes great stories with great characters.

Sherry, I'm a fan of Nicholas Sparks also. "A Walk To Remember" had me in tears.

KarenJo - I love Mary Higgins Clark's books too. Her daughter's, Carol, books are good too.

I just finished "When Night Falls" which was written by my good friend, Lauren Sharman. It was a great book. No, I am not just saying that because she is my friend. ; )

That's so cool that your friend is an author Victoria. I'll have to try her book. I enjoy Carol Higgins Clark also. I love the Christmas books that her and her mother write together.

I'm half way through it. I only read when I go to bed, and usually fall asleep while reading, then I have to reread again. It is very good. I am amazed that she didn't die from all the drugs she used.

I'm almost done with The Time Of My Life by Patrick Swayze and his wife. It is a very good read although I'm kinda dreading the end.

finished The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls last night. It was a book I really wasn't to sure about buying. I started to read it one night and I was hooked. I couldn't wait to get home from work, so I could continue reading it!!! I didn't even feel guilty about not working on an afghan I have an order for. Finished the book in 3 days. Highly recommend this book. It is the story of her life.

BonBon, don't you just love it when you get sucked into a book and you can't put it down?

I finished "The Time Of My Life" and last night I started "My Life Outside The Ring" by Hulk Hogan. It's really interesting.

Elayne, with a list 450 people long I hope it's a good read.

Have any of you ladies ever read Judith McNaught? She writes romance novels and she is my favorite author. Her books are amazing, and she's a sweet person in real life too. The stories that she weaves and her characters just pull you right in. She writes historicals and contemporaries. If you're looking for an excellent author to read, try her. I guarantee you won't be dissapointed.

A co-worker belongs to a book club and knowing how much I love to read, she brings me bags of books when she is done with them. I got a pile this week. I started with Wrecked by E.R. Frank. It is about a girl that is involved in a car accident that is (so far - halfway through the book) not her fault but kills her brother's girlfriend. It seems to be somewhat about dysfunction in families, but it is a quick interesting read - maybe because I have driving teens. Will let you know when I finish it (probably later tonight) but so far it is very good and easy to pick up and put down, which I need between putting up Christmas trees, raking leaves, cleaning, laundry - well, you get the picture! :)
