I suffer from "lack of light" depression. It seem to be hitting me a bit harder this year and so now I am in counciling with a great woman. I have no intrest in anything and feel like Iam in slow motion. My DH says NO MEDICATION!! so I have to battle though without much help. Please pray for me and please excuse my absentice to the board and lack of postive energy.

You poor thing. I have heard some people get relief from artificial light, like the old sun lamps.

I'm sorry to hear that Scrap. I know how hard this time of year can be. Hang in there, If you can get a UV bulb that may help. We use Daylight bulbs in our bathroom in the winter it gives at least the 20 mins of morning routine. Excercise is another way to boost your "happy chemicals".

Bluu google SAD (seasonal affective disorder). Its where your "happy brain chemicals" drop due to the lack of exposure to sunlight. Mostly happens in the winter since folks stay indoors more.

I am sorry to hear that Scrap4you. I have the opposite problem. I think I have Reverse SAD because I get so depressed in the summer. I hate the heat and humidity so much that it gets me down and makes me so grouchy.

When it is chilly & cloudy, I am happier and I have more energy. Go figure!

I know what Scrap is going thru. It has not hit me yet but last year was rough for me. Anytime I can see sunlight I am better.

Sorry to hear that, Scrap4. I've heard of the disorder, and often wondered if visiting the tanning hut once or twice a week for 10 to 15 minutes at a time would help. Will be thinking good thoughts for you :)

Peace

I'm sorry to hear this Scrap4you. You know that we're all here for you. Just think of us as craft therapy. And after we finish our "session" you'll have a pretty project not a big bill. ;)

The others made some good suggestions for you. You're in my prayers.

I know several people who suffer from this ailment. It is not fun. Especially with all the rain and gloomy weather in the southeast lately. Prayers for a clear sunny patch to help you get through!
