1All bookmarks shown here start with a common base; we just changed up the colors for each character! Once you have completed step 1, go on to create your favorite bookmark!
Step A: With the scissors, cut out a 6" x 6" piece of felt (for the Owl, we used Tangerine; for the Monster & Frog, we used Neon Lime; for the Puppy we used Cocoa; for the Personalized Heart we used White). Divide it into four, 3" x 3" squares by drawing a vertical and horizontal line across it. Then, draw a diagonal line through the middle of two opposite 3" x 3" squares to create the shape of an hourglass. The diagonals should go edge to edge, not center to edge.
Step B: Cut along the diagonals, and then cut out one of the whole 3" x 3" squares. You should be left with a shape that looks like an arrow. With the arrow shape pointing down, fold one triangle inward. Apply glue to the other triangle and fold it inward over the first triangle. Let the glue set. Complete your bookmark following the steps below!
2Owl Corner Bookmark:
Step A: Cut two 2" diameter White felt scalloped circles with the pinking shears. Cut two 1" diameter Black felt circles with the scissors. Glue the Black circles onto the White circles for eyes, then glue the eyes to the bookmark, and let the glue set. Cut a triangle shape from the Yellow felt and glue it between the eyes for the beak.
Step B: Cut a V shaped piece from Yellow felt for the ears and glue it above and behind the eyes.3Monster Corner Bookmark:
Step A: Cut two different size Purple felt scalloped circles with the pinking shears and two different size Black felt circles with the regular scissors. Glue the Black circles onto the White circles for the eyes, glue the eyes to the bookmark, and then let the glue set.
Step B: Cut a 4" x 1" piece of White felt. Cut different size points along one long side for teeth and glue them to the bookmark. Cut a 3" piece of Yellow chenille stem. Fold it in half and glue the folded end onto the back of the bookmark for antennae. Finish with dimensional fabric paint dots and let dry.4Puppy Corner Bookmark:
Step A: Cut two teardrop-shaped pieces from Black felt and glue to each side for ears. Cut two ¾" diameter White felt circles and two smaller Black felt circles. Glue the Black circles onto the White circles for eyes. Glue the eyes to the bookmark. Let the glue set. Cut a Black felt oval shape for the nose and glue it to the bookmark. Finish with dimensional paint dots and let dry.5Personalized Heart Corner Bookmark:
Step A: Cut out a Pink felt heart about 3-½" wide using the pinking shears, and then cut out a smaller Red felt heart. Glue the Pink heart to the White bookmark. Glue the Red heart to the White heart and let the glue set.
Step B: Decorate the Pink heart with dimensional fabric paint, write an initial on the Red heart with dimensional fabric paint, and let the paint dry.6Frog Corner Bookmark:
Step A: Cut two 1-½" diameter White felt scalloped circles with the pinking shears and two 5/8" diameter Black felt circles with the regular scissors. Glue the Black circles onto the White circles for eyes, glue them to the bookmark, and let the glue set.
