You can pleat your way to fashion greatness –-- at least when it comes to tie-dying a t-shirt –-- in a few simple steps! Tulip'’s One-Step Tie-Dye Kits make it so easy.

Project Instructions

    Prepare: Wash t-shirt to remove sizing. Do not use fabric softener and do not dry. Cover work surface with plastic tablecloth. Starting in the bottom corner of the t-shirt, gather fabric at an angle going across to other side. Wrap rubber bands from the kit around shirt along folds from top to bottom spacing out every few inches.

    Dye: Wearing plastic gloves from kit, add water to Pink (or other desired color) dye bottle to line indicated on bottle. Replace cap tightly and shake until dye is dissolved. Squeeze Pink dye onto all banded sections of t-shirt, then add to remaining portion of shirt. Cover t-shirt with plastic tablecloth and let sit 4 to 6 hours. Note: project time does not include this setting time.

    Finish: Remove rubber bands and wash t-shirt separately in washing machine in a large load of water with a small amount of laundry soap. Dry in dryer.
