Project Instructions
-
1Notes:
Project time does not include drying time for the glue.
Project usually looks best when you use the same type of fabric throughout the project (all felt or all cotton).
The thicker the fabric, the more glue you will need. Use just enough glue so that it doesn't soak through.
If choosing the Green felt, glue the sheets together before starting project. -
2Measure and cut Red felt (or cotton) around box bottom, adding 1 inch to all sides. Cut a piece of Red felt (or cotton) slightly smaller than bottom of box.
-
3Working on one side of box, squeeze a bead of glue along edges and in center. Use a finger to smooth glue. Center fabric of choice in place and smooth flat. Continue around remaining sides of box. Glue Red felt (or cotton) piece to bottom of box.
-
4Glue felt (or cotton) overlap to bottom and inside following same steps.
-
5Following same technique, cover lid with Neon Lime felt or Green cotton.
-
6To create a pattern for lid, measure side of lid then cut a strip of scrap paper that size. Divide length by 6. Measure and mark increments on paper. Mark center of each increment. Measure 1/2 inch up on one side. Set ruler on center point then to 1/2 inch mark, repeat step on other side creating a point. Continue along whole strip. Cut out sections creating a pattern.
-
7Measure and cut a piece of White felt (or cotton) to fit top and sides of box using pattern for edges.
-
8Apply glue to top and sides of lid; smooth with finger, center felt piece then press in place.
-
9Use a pencil to trace around the 1 inch diameter object on Neon Lime felt (or Green cotton), tracing about 30. Cut out.
-
10Apply glue to box where a circle is desired then press Neon Lime felt (or Green cotton) into place.
-
11Glue Light Blue pom poms at end of each point on lid referring to photo for placement.
-
12Run a thin bead of glue on top of lid, just in from edge. Press cording into place, trimming ends to butt next to each other.
-
13Working on one side at a time, add a dot of glue in Neon Lime felt (or Green cotton) circles, press crayon on Light Blue rhinestone then place in glue. Crayon will hold rhinestone just long enough to set in place. Let dry.
