1Use a gauge of 14 sts + 16 rnds (about 4 inch) in K2, p2 Rib, slightly stretched to knit a hat that measures about 16 inch in Finished Circumference and about 10 inch in Finished Height. Be sure to check your gauge. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches to match the gauge, try using a smaller size needle or hook; if it takes you more stitches, try a larger size needle or hook.
