Project Instructions

  • 1
Use a gauge of 1 block being 4-1/4 inch x 4-1/4 inch to crochet an afghan that measures approximately 43 inch x 55 inch. Be sure to check your gauge. If it takes you less stitches to match the gauge, try using a smaller size needle or hook; if it takes you more stitches, try a larger size needle or hook. Download template for abbreviations not explained elsewhere and the Assembly Diagram.
    Notes:
Afghan is made from 111 Blocks. The majority of the Blocks are joined to previous Blocks as you work.
Blocks are worked across columns, one after the other. The next Block in each column begins across the top of the previous Block in that column and is joined to a side edge of the corresponding Block in the previous column.
Refer to the diagram for colors and arrangement of Blocks.
Hot Springs border is worked around the outside edge of the completed Afghan.
