1Use a gauge of 16 sts + 20 rows (about 4 inch) in Knit 2, purl 2 Rib unstretched to knit a hat that measures approximately 17 inch in Finished Circumference. Be sure to check your gauge. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches to match the gauge, try using a smaller size needle or hook; if it takes you more stitches, try a larger size needle or hook.
