Project Instructions

    Use a gauge of 14 sts + 24 rows (about 4 inch) in pattern to knit a scarf that measures approximately 6 inch x 37 inch. Save time, check your gauge. If the hook or needle listed under supplies does not work, use the size that allows you to obtain the required gauge.
    Download the template for abbreviations and stitches not explained elsewhere.
    Special Stitches:
    M1 (make 1) = an increase worked by lifting the horizontal strand lying between needles and placing it onto left needle. Knit this new stitch through the back loop – 1 st increased.
    M1P (make 1 st as if to purl) = an increase worked by lifting the horizontal strand lying between the needles and placing it onto left needle. Purl this new stitch through the back loop – 1 st increased.

    Scarf:
    Cast on 30 sts.
    Rows 1 and 3 (WS): Purl.
    Rows 2 and 4: K1, k2 sts together, k to last st, M1, k1.
    Rows 5 and 7: Knit.
    Rows 6 and 8: P1, p2 sts together, p to last st, M1P, p1.
    Repeat Rows 1-8 until almost all yarn has been used, end with a Row 4 or a Row 8 as the last row you work.
    Bind off.
