1Use a gauge of 14 sts + 24 rows (about 4 inch) in pattern to knit a scarf that measures approximately 6 inch x 37 inch. Save time, check your gauge. If the hook or needle listed under supplies does not work, use the size that allows you to obtain the required gauge.

M1 (make 1) = an increase worked by lifting the horizontal strand lying between needles and placing it onto left needle. Knit this new stitch through the back loop 1 st increased.
M1P (make 1 st as if to purl) = an increase worked by lifting the horizontal strand lying between the needles and placing it onto left needle. Purl this new stitch through the back loop 1 st increased.
Cast on 30 sts.
Rows 1 and 3 (WS): Purl.
Rows 2 and 4: K1, k2 sts together, k to last st, M1, k1.
Rows 5 and 7: Knit.
Rows 6 and 8: P1, p2 sts together, p to last st, M1P, p1.
Repeat Rows 1-8 until almost all yarn has been used, end with a Row 4 or a Row 8 as the last row you work.
Weave in ends.
