Project Instructions
-
1Download and print the project template. Use them to trace and cut out several stars in each color glitter cardstock.
-
2To make 3-D stars, use a paper creaser and ruler to crease the star from each point to the opposite-side edge. Repeat for all five points on the star. Fold each crease and run the creaser over the fold. You can also draw a straight line from each point to the opposite-side edge, with each line intersecting in the middle, as a guide.
-
3Glitter side of the cardstock up, fold the crease that leads to one of the stars points. Continue folding each point into the point next to it until you have tightly compacted triangle. Run the creaser over the triangle and unfold.
-
4Hot glue pony beads onto the back of the stars to hold the monofilament strands.
-
5Cut a 4-½" yard piece of monofilament and fold it in half. Tie a knot 1" down from the fold. Slide the monofilament through the pony beads. Continue adding 3-D and flat stars 36" down the strands of monofilament.
-
6At 36", add a new monofilament strand onto the back of the last 3-D star. Do this by tying a 24" piece of monofilament to a pony bead and glue it to the back of the 3-D star. After this point begin alternating the colors and sizes of glitter stars. Finish by gluing the smallest stars, alternating colors, for the rest of the monofilament.
