Project Instructions
-
1Break off one section of Premo Sculpey clay and soften it by working the clay with your hands. Roll the clay into a ball, and then use a roller to flatten the clay to approx. 1/8 thickness. It is important to have the thickness consistent for the entire piece of clay.
-
2Stamp the flattened clay with your first desired letter and use a circle cutter to create a round pendant. Repeat to create additional letter pendants. Use a small nail or toothpick to make the hole at top of pendant.
-
3Follow the directions on package for baking the clay. Allow to cool completely after baking.
-
4Mix (equal parts) each acrylic paint with Sculpey Matte Glaze and brush this mixture onto the cooled letter pendants. Be sure to coat the inside crevices of the letter monogram. Wipe off the excess with damp sponge and allow to dry.
-
5Create your necklace by cutting the chain with wire cutters to your preferred length. Use needle nose pliers to twist open a jump ring and attach one half of the lobster clasp to the chain. Repeat for the other side. Add the letter pendants to the metal chain using jump rings.
-
6Finish by adding decorative pendants to match the personality of the wearer. We added a heart to ours! For other variations, try using: decorative stamps or fingerprints, cutting the pendants into different shapes, or creating a bracelet.
